What a river in the shade
knows
that it must go on.
What children growing
up in the city know
that life is under conditions.
What every saint writer
prophet savior whole soul
and lover knows
that nothing can hurt you
unless you hold it to you.
And that whether
the sky is really
billboard paper
or not,
smacking holes in it to see
what the other side is like will only
tatter worlds.
Light is knowing without
doing and being without
knowing
And never never
an action word.
